10.01.04 - Major Trail Changes in the Twin Mountain Area.
Effective this coming season 2004/2005 the portion of Corridor 11 known as the Base Station Trail
(Cog Base Road) will be permanently relocated from the actual road that has been used in the past
as a trail, to a new trail that will basically parallel the paved road. The Cog Base Road will be opened
to Motor Vehicle Traffic year round effective immediately. The new snowmobile trail is being
constructed at this time from the Bretton Woods condo area to the junction of Jefferson Notch Road
(which will still be used as a snowmobile trail in winter). The new trail and paved portion of the road will
be watched closely for enforcement and safety issues this coming season. It will be imperative that
snowmobiles stay on the designated trail as to avoid potential accidents involving motor vehicles and
log trucks. If you have questions or comments regarding the new trail you can contact the NH Trails
Bureau at www.nhtrails.org or stop by this summer and observe the trail construction going on now.
